"Never give up! Failure and rejection are only the first step to succeeding."
Nestled in the blasted granite cliffs outside of Barstow, New Jack City offers a wide variety of heavily featured sport climbing, perfect for beginners and more advanced climbers alike, with a minimal approach. This is a fantastic climbing area for people new to the sport, or more advanced climbers looking to practice their lead climbing skills on well-protected terrain. The climbing area is very close to the parking area, which means that it is perfect for adventurers looking to get right to the climbing and not have to hike a while to get to the main event. This area is open year-round, but be warned that it gets very hot during the summer.
Rock climbing is one of the fastest growing extreme sports in the nation, and it is not hard to see why. Combine the thrill and excitement of being on the rock high above the ground, the athleticism of moving from hold to hold as you work your way up the cliff face, and the technology of being able to do all of it under expert supervision and top-of-the-line safety equipment, and you have the perfect recipe for a fantastic adventure. For trips to New Jack City, climbers should pack some water (2 liters), snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera.
